As a child, I was strangely enamored with Halloween. Not the religious holiday of Samhain, but the modern, pop-culture, commercialized version. More than anything, though, I loved the decorations. I was an introverted kid who rarely had friends over, but every year I had a Halloween party because I enjoyed decorating for Halloween so much.

Halloween parties and their decor are so unlike other parties and party decor. Your typical party involves lots of colors, bright lights, loud dance music, and inane conversation (all things introverts hate, by the way). Halloween parties are much calmer. At Halloween you get gently flicking candle light, decor that sets your imagination going, and a small circle of friends telling ghost stories in hushed tones.

My tastes ran (and still run) towards the spooky, “give you chills” end of the spectrum rather than the gruesome, gory end, but I’ve tried to include decor and ideas for all tastes on HalloweenPartyDecorations.ORG.
